Making Me
03:26
|
|||
You appeared from the exit
With your visibly strong tongue
Boots pointed from their places
Edging tables, curbing me
Approach and gait along the wood grain
Bright words that lit engagement
My smile felt unbounded
When your gaze set the walls free
Your lips let off swift puffs
That pushed my laughs up
And nervous eyes followed my toes
While they tipped the legs of seats
Low tones tickled the air
As we walked the drive home
I tried to quit my giggling
You know, allow the locals sleep
I lost my founded farewells
Among the footsteps I took too far
Past the porch that led to my bed that night
Settling back I was slightly more me

You Give So Much
06:39
|
|||
Is there anything more
To dream for
Than some of your
Company
Being alone with your own thoughts
Is all the owning I'll need
Let me be
The one you see
I've heard talk he's beautiful
And sometimes he even says the right thing
I want to be him, maybe I could see him
In your pupils reflecting, back at me
But I don't need to like myself
Your irises dancing is enough
Plus how your face loses focus
When you talk about the things you love
I love you, and if you like how I love you
I'll love myself for loving you so much

I've been feeling a little less lonely
Since you've been here
Hard to find a companion
To last through the days and the years
So go
And come back tomorrow
Speaking with you each evening
Makes me wish for the next dawn
I only hope our voices echo
When we're gone
So be
Your part of you and me
Hug me strictly
I'll hold you loose
To swallow each tap of your touch
Whenever you choose
So we
Can just sleep

Past Passes
03:45
|

Our problems don't have to be perfect
We can find some puzzles we can solve
A blind end road still leaves you someplace
And placement's something we could use
Try to pick a line
Find yourself on the other side
You don't think there's things we still have
The hours only change what they take
Though dust will gather on the glasses
We'll tip them out whenever we choose
Try to mourn the dead
Get ready to see your head fall
We can watch flowers grow and die
And share our memories of their scent
I think we can bear together
We'll get old just like we were new
Try to last a while
Just watching each other smile

Dependents
03:19
|
|||
I know I'm selfish
To be fair I've hardly tried
But from here it don't look easy
To survive
It's hard to find solutions
In the ways I provide
But at least I'm
Alive
I've felt lost
I've felt gone
But thanks to you
I've never been alone
So don't say you're
Going away from me
Lie until the day you have to
Leave

Hardly Hate
02:48
|
|||
I keep wondering
Would you care more if I was less like myself?
All my beautiful tragedies
Would you think you could offer me help?
I need help, I need help
I don't how to ask, I need hell
I need punishment and torture
And safety and healing
I have to find some numbness
To tell me what I'm feeling
I have to find someone less attached
Who's willing to give me a match
Watch me immolate
But make sure to stay
Won't wait for me to make the call
Push me down and watch me fall
Pick me up when I'm done crying
Someone who cares enough to hurt me
Who loves themselves and tells me to leave
Who feels free
They don't need
They just want, and they say so
To make sure I know
I hate them
They hardly think about me
When I know I'm loved
I hardly think about me
I hate
That you still think about me
I hardly hate you
You should hardly think about me

If you've got someone
You love even a little bit
You probably don't know what love is
If you're old and fading
Friends and family sitting with
You probably don't know what love is
If you've lost your best friend
You know pain but it could be worse
Think how bad it gets
When you know what love is
If your friends have all left
And you're soon to be dead
You probably haven't learned what love is yet
Because my love is better
Than everybody else's love
If you'd tried to know
Well then you'd see
My love is better
Than anybody else's love
But to learn that
You'd have to love me
I thought I loved my loved ones
But the pain put me in fits
When I met you and learned what love is
I'll be lying on my death bed
Asking people why they haven't left
They don't know you, they don't know what love is
I forgot all my friends
I had you, and they were worse
They would understand if they knew what love is
I've lived my last life
Even though I'll die my first death
Nothing else counts when you know what love is
Your love is better
Than everybody else's love
I tried to know why
So I could see
Your love is better
Than anybody else's love
I learned that
When you told me
They say you see love everywhere
But I've known it nowhere else
So if you find someone to love
You'd best keep that to yourself
Because my love is better
Than everybody else's love
You can try
But you'll never see
My love is better
Than anybody else's love
But to learn that
You'd have to be me

I only hope
Our voices echo
When we're gone
When we're gone
